Designing an Empowerment Model for School Counselors: A Qualitative Study

Aim: The current research was conducted with the aim of developing a model for empowering school counselors based on grounded theory and using semistructured interview method. Methods: For this purpose, number 12 teachers, 14 counselors, 13 students (locally from Ardabil province) were selected through purposeful sampling 9 counseling experts professors (nationally) by snowball data collected until theoretical saturation reached. After transcribing text interviews entering information into MAXQDA qualitative analysis software, they analyzed open, central selective coding.
 Findings: results open axial coding led to identification 245 concepts 17 core categories. Also, showed that category counselors' ability is influenced causal conditions (scientific, professional moral competence), intervening (emotional maturity, self-efficacy, skills coordination) background (intellectual emotional intelligence, mental health, communication skills, psychological toughness charismatic personality) in form organizational individual development strategies, which result improving efficiency directly indirectly.
 Conclusions: According findings present research, it recommended use order empower as well design develop different programs improve guidance services.
